Love this presentation
So this is me, sharing my recipe with you...cause I can.

Apple Butter
Note: This recipe makes roughly 40 ounces of apple butter

~4 pounds of apples, peeled and cut into bite sized chunks (for best flavor use a mix of different apple types)

~1/2 gallon of apple cider (not sparkling)
~2 cups of sugar (use roughly 1/2 cup per pound of fruit)
~1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
~1/2 tsp. cloves
~Juice of one lemon

~Place all ingredients in crock pot.
~Cover pot and cook on high for 3 hours, turn dial to low.
~Stir well and cover again. Cook for 8 hours, stirring occasionally.
~Contents will have reduced and thickened. You may leave it this way (thick with small soft chunks of apple), or put it in the food processor, blender, or hand mixer to make smooth. For the best of both worlds, use a potato masher.
~Pour into jars and seal. Keep refrigerated.

Nothing says 'Fall' like Apple Butter!!! We love this stuff at home. It's great for breakfast on biscuits and toast and bagels and all sorts of bread. I've even caught the kids eating spoonfuls right out of the jar!

I'm looking to package in 4oz mason jars with personalized labels (will probably use our monogram), topped with a natural colored fabric and ribbon in the wedding colors.

Cake Topper

Picture
Meet my cake topper. Specially designed for me by Crafty Eddy, it is the same font as the 'M' in the monogram (the "old" one).

My mission? Turn this little wooden letter into an awesome-ly blinged out masterpiece, which will involve spray-painting it (probably a light green color), covering the front face with several hundred crystal rhinestones, then *possibly dipping the prongs in wax - because who wants splinters in their cake, right?

Picture
Finished!!! I used a light green acrylic paint on the letter and was able to apply two coats in one afternoon. But let me tell you, getting in those little spaces was NOT easy. With a half ounce bottle of Tacky Glue (remember that stuff in the gold bottle from elementary school?), several toothpicks, and a couples hours, I was able to apply what appears to be several hundred rhinestones - please don't ask me to count them!

I'll have to look around and see what else there is to bling out around here, because I have a whole bag and a half left. Anyone need some?!

Jumping Broom

Picture
I love when I haven't a clue how to do something and it turns out just the way I wanted! This was exactly the case with this broom. The internet was really no help with this one, so I just kind of winged it. My AAW knotties were help in realizing I needed a glue gun.

Some may ask, why isn't it decorated in your wedding colors? Good question! I really wanted this broom to mean something, and not just be a part of the decor. And in searching for flowers and ribbon and other things, this is what I came up with:

~Red & white roses together they mean 'Unity'. We met in our church choir. The name of said choir? UNITY!
~The red and gold ribbon symbolize our church's colors
~The 5 cowrie shells on the handle represent the uniting of our families. One for each of us and our children
~Not pictured are two charms that I've ordered. One is a treble clef, the other is the 'Jesus fish'. They will either hang from the bow, or I'll place them among the flowers.

All in all, a really fun project for $20! Unfortunately, while clipping the stems off the fake flowers, I ran into a really large chunk of wire in one. And in the quest to just try and get through it, I snapped the handle off my favorite crafting scissors, and chipped the blades....such a sad casualty. Replacement crafting scissors....$25 :(

Day of Hoodie

I used Liz's instructions to do this, and I don't know about anyone else that did this particular project, but um...I didn't think it was all that simple! It was tedious and time consuming and a little nerve wracking at times.  It came out the way I wanted, though. My first name is on the left side of the front, too. I could have used a much larger font, but it'll do!
